How to make a vertical vegetable garden with PET bottles

The PET bottle vertical garden is a great choice because, in addition to being practical and decorating the house, it also recycles the bottles, giving them an incredible destination. The vegetable garden allows you to plant spices and small vegetables.

To do this, you will need:

    • 3 Pet bottles (in the same column, I recommend placing 3 bottles, more than that is too heavy)
    • String or clothesline
    • Scissors with tip
    • A knife
    • Wall hook
    • Terra
    • garden blanket
    • Seeds, or small seedlings

    Check step by step:

    1. Cut the pet bottle, making a rectangular opening in the center, leaving five fingers away from the spout and the tip. The width can be a span of a hand, to give space for the plant to grow.
    2. Make a circular hole at the top and bottom end of the bottle, the hole has to go through both sides, so the string can go through the inside. To make the hole, heat the tip of the knife, so it melts the plastic and makes cutting easier.
    3. Drill holes in the bottom of the bottle to allow water to drain.
    4. Repeat the same process for all three bottles.
    5. Thread the thread through one side of all the bottles, knotting them below to prevent them from slipping on the string.
    6. Then, loop the string up and down the other side of the bottles, lining them up.
    7. Tie a tight knot on the last bottle to prevent it from falling. This last node will support the weight of all of them.
    8. Place a piece of blanket at the bottom of the bottle.
    9. Fill with earth.
    10. Now, just plant the seeds and then hang them on the wall hooks.

Note: For planting, do not use large plants. Use spices, and small plants, so the weight doesn't weigh down the bottles.
